The latest addition to that list? You might have already guessed, the up-and-coming and relentlessly heavy Rev3rent. Capturing the sheer sonic ferocity and unabashed energy of many of the aforementioned acts with an aesthetic that feels both nostalgic and with nuanced flashes of the genre’s more contemporary stylings, Rev3rent’s Decimate EP is a release that you probably already know—but if you don’t, here’s the rune down. Laden with breakdowns that (pun intended) sound as though they could split the earth, and boasting a vocal effort that defines the current year’s OG deathcore renaissance, Decimate was an EP that took over the heavy music underground upon its release in mid-2025. Eight months and one immense tour with deathcore juggernauts PSYCHO-FRAME later, with another nation-wide run alongside The Frame, Emmure and SPITE on the horizon, Rev3rent are well on their way to making themselves a household name when it comes to all things spin-kick, hair-flip and two-step. Decimate is deathcore revival done with deadly precision in a fashion that revitalizes core tenets of the genre while pushing many of those same elements into uncomfortable and modern territory—something many of the band’s peers have traditionally struggled with.
