20 years have come and gone, so the gorillas have teamed up with All Shall Perish to bring The Price of Existence to vinyl for the first time! This album is one of the big cornerstones of its time and genre. If you think of mid-2000s deathcore, what do you think of? You have Allegiance by As Blood Runs Black, you have Masochist by Elysia, you even have bands like Bring Me the Horizon and The Acacia Strain releasing classics. And right up with them, you have The Price of Existence. Featuring staple tracks such as the pinnacle Wage Slaves and There Is No Business to Be Done on a Dead Planet, All Shall Perish was doing something special within the emerging deathcore pocket growing around that time. Eddie Hermida’s visceral vocals are still memorable 20 years later on tracks like Better Living Through Catastrophe, and the guitar work was unmatched for deathcore at its time.

There’s a reason why people still talk about The Price of Existence to this day. There’s something special here, and you can feel it. You can hear it in the breathtaking orchestral section in Prisoner of War, or the completely instrumental softer track Greyson. It’s heard best in the magnum opus and closer, The Last Relapse. From the piano, to gang vocals, to Hermida’s best vocal performance of the record, to the blast beats and guitar solos, it encompasses everything All Shall Perish has to offer. It shows why this album as a whole was a force to be reckoned with. It paved the way for so many bands, and the influence it’s had is woven throughout even more.
